Candy Hearts

Since Valentine's Day is less than a week away, here are a few ideas for flirting with the ones you love, and for making everyone else nervous...

Y

Check out this cool Gummy, or Soft Heart!
It's anatomical, and you can eat it!

This is the perfect heart to pass on to a teacher... I'm not sure if it's doll-sized, but if so, a fun idea to give with a doll (such as one of the Harry Potter dolls by Tonner). Hide it with a sexy note, in a special spot to catch someone by surprise. Put it in a prescription bottle with a note, in your lover's medicine cabinet. Get a safety pin and pin it to your jacket or hat with a flower. (Make sure you look sad, like you're hungry for love.) Tie it to a firecracker... And keep it on your desk near the telephone. Or give it to your boss! I dare you! Make a really scary-looking dessert, like cheesecake with strawberries and sauce; leave it on the side of the plate for your Gothic boyfriend. Tie an engagement ring around it with a happy bright white or pink ribbon.

Y

Of course, everyone recognizes these candies...

This are fun for kids to stick inside their Valentine cards to friends... Can also be used as small offerings on a plate in a personal prayer space, where they can stay for some time. Do you have a personal message you'd like to get to God? Have your favorite people "make a wish" as you place one on someone's tongue...

Y

Ahem! This heart is upsetting a lot of women... Translation? "He doesn't have the maturity to man-up"?

But the ORIGINAL HJNTIY? began on an episode of SEINFELD - the one where George encourages Jerry to propose a threesome to his girlfriend's roommate...? "She's INTO it!!!" Jerry learns. It's that episode where Jerry cries - "I don't wanna be an orgy-guy! I'd have to get orgy-clothes! I'd have to get an orgy-robe, and grow a mustache! I'd have to get all new furniture - ORGY furniture! I'd have to find new friends! Orgy-friends!"

Women, maybe there is something to that whole orgy thing... Organize your own orgy, set your own rules. Invite your returning soldiers and hot immigrants from places like Iraq, Iran and Pakistan! They are so grateful to get to the U.S.! They can't wait to snuggle down between some warm breasts! And stay there! (War does that to guys.)

Y

This was a colossal design I copied from web images... SOMEBODY put a ton of work into it! This is the DON'T EAT ME HEART... I would put a sign near the display with instructions "DON'T Eat Me!" especially if there are kids in the house.

A heart like this would take about 9-12 hours to create. You would need an anatomical image to go by. You might need a styrofoam ball and a few other pieces of carved styrofoam to make your basic shape. These would all have to be glued together as firmly as possible with a glue gun and toothpicks. (If you could get your hands on a large piece of hard styrofoam, to carve the entire shape, that would be the way to go! Once you start working on the hearts, you don't want to be managing a piece of junk.) Do I sound like Martha Stewart?

You'd need about 8 large packages of hearts, maybe even a little pink food dye to soak your white and pink hearts together to color them as one. Then, it's a matter of making sure you have a TON of glue sticks and time to sit and glue, glue, glue, layering about 3 levels of hearts, one on top of the other, to get the full effect. The "sideways" hearts have to be braced on the flat-laying ones.

(My Uncle Jim used to make junk like this all the time... And I was always warned - "no" - and always stupid enough to at least try and get in a lick... His projects always tasted like dust and crap-ola! yechhh! bleche! spit spit spit!!)

Y

Yum!
These hearts are really sexy, I think. Also they are low carb candies, so skinny b's like 'em! I would put mine in a hot, romantic valentine card, or sprinkle some around the bedsheets with some real rose petals. See, they are very pretty because they look like little drops of blood. One wonderful idea - if you love to make curries, make a really pretty, spicey, saucey chicken curry for Valentine dinner. Plate it up with a few of these cinnamon candies in the sauce at the last minute - delicious. Serve some steamy chai tea to your McDreamy, with a cup and saucer, and the candies on the saucer. Take a handful and decorate your body when you lay down with your partner, or use a little honey in the bedroom to make them really stick...

Y

I thought this was an interesting heart, below...
Any candies striped red and white have an ancient tradition behind them. They represent the number of "lashes" Jesus received during the whipping from the soldiers, as He carried his crucifix to Calvary! So when we see the red-stripes, we are instructed to remember how Christ suffered as He died for our sins. And with candy, we are prompted to remember the sweet sanctity of Christ's Promise, to redeem us, and to show us how to bring Heaven on Earth. And all that jazz.

And I don't know how I know all this; I just do.
I was raised Catholic... Ya know?

Y

If you really love me... If you want to show your devotion, a heart-shaped box with chocolate is one of the best ways to go! 'k?

Just remember! Get the best chocolate you can find, in one of the most beautiful boxes available... Even if you are just doing this for yourself! A pretty, elegant box is the best keepsake. Besides, no one wants to get fat on cheap chocolate! If you must get fat, or get someone else fat? Make sure it's on something dreamy, beautiful, awesome and memorable!

Love is the only thing worth getting fat for. If you are going to eat it, love it, or leave it.

Have a foamy latte or hot coffee drink prepared with an open box of chocolates on the table; and maybe a truffle sitting next to your coffee cup and saucer. If you're home alone? Why not put in a Tom Cruise or Leonardo movie? That always cheers me up! ; )

Martyr's Heart

Y

The Martyr's Heart is a Heart that Never Forgets

Another fascinating tattoo, this image shows the crucifix coming through the heart as a stake! The thorns of the heart are suspended as a kind of "halo" around the puncture wound. Here, our hard lessons of pain become our crowning glory, the things that shape and define us if we so choose. Yes, then it is possible to become a bleeding heart in life... For we must otherwise make the commitment to let the past die.

The type of soul who would be attracted to this design has had many lifetimes of being martyred, perhaps even innate memories of being suspended next to Jesus, or being with Jesus during His hours on the cross at Calvary. Perhaps this person's consciousness is blocked, missing the true redemption of Christ's Resurrection.

This personality must be careful not to inflict his or her victim attitude into the environment, for it becomes an endless circle (the thorns) of futility.

I'll Never Let You Forget

Perhaps
if you loved me a little more
we wouldn't be
in this predicament.
After all I have sacrificed -
all I have done
for you.
And what good is it?
When you are a repeat offender
coming back time and again
only to use
and take advantage of
my kindness?
My back aches
and my wrists don't work,
my feet are locked and won't move...

But I will try
to help you, anyway.
I'll never let you forget
me.

I should learn to say no,

but you would go
out of your way
to haunt me,
pester me with your pleading
'til I am nothing more
than a bleeding
mess.
Even still?
I'll take you back.

It feels good
to reduce to you a beggar.

It feels good
to make myself feel better
by keeping you dependent...

Coaxing, prompting
enticing you to be anything
but brave.

I'll never let you forget me...

For I Am the Master here!
And you, my naive one,
(so naive)!
Are my slave.

Medicated Heart

Y

This image is of an "inflamed" heart. As you can see, it is swollen; the dark clouds around it could represent congestion or depression. Because of the swelling, it is fiery; the sort of heart that is aching for relief.

Also, I think it is interesting to consider, the thorns around the heart are full of dis-ease. So as you can see, a crucifix is coming down into the heart, to give it some relief. This crucifix is a Gift from God. Certainly, it could be the discovery of some new sort of medication, much needed for the situation. For without this help, the muscles of the heart and above the heart would begin to contract and become knotted. That's already happening here.

Y

This image below is
a typical depiction of a Sacred Heart,
being inducted by God's Gift.

As you can see, there's a weeping "eye" in there... It is closed and resting.

Y

I am very lucky to know many people from various cultures, who have blessed me with their knowledge and resources. This is how I found my Tui Na healer. She works on the farthest reaches of the city, and I must go far to see her. She learned her skill in Vietnam. Because she is not a licensed practitioner, she only takes donations. There is a kindness about her I see in very few people. Even though she is younger than me, there is something about her that reminds me of my mother, when Mom was young and loving. She is sincere and very cute, with freckles on her face.

"I only help the people as long as they are in pain," she explained. "Then I tell them, no more, because I get afraid..."

"Of course," I said. "You would have to stop working on them... Because people should learn how to take care of themselves. If they are in pain, they will respect you. If they are no longer in pain, they will just use you."

This looks like how I feel before a session...
(See how Lon Chaney also has a bit of a sinus problem?)

Then she gets on top of me with her entire body weight... She begins to knead the paralysis out of my face and neck with her knuckles. Pushing it slowly, like stiff, frozen meat, down through the chi lines of my arm or leg, she takes it out through my fingers and toes.

The toe-part is the most painful! She will grab me by the pinkie, pick me up, and shake my entire body by the pinkie, beating me against the floor while I am screaming "ow!! ow!! ow!!" After which she "breaks" it out of me. The suddenly all the paralysis goes "snap" - out of my pinkie toe - and is gone, forever.

Perhaps "ow!" is the universal language? Or have I got it all wrong? (It's supposed to be "Om", not "Ow!")

So far I have had 6 half-hour sessions with Loi. Early this year, we were surprised to find, my tonsil was paralyzed. It was pulling on all the muscles above my heart. It was putting pressure on my brain.

When she went in and got all that stuff out of me, I wept bitterly. I just couldn't believe how much hatred and anger I was holding there.

How is it, my doctors could not detect any of that?

Y

Lord, I've got to be careful about not liking doctors... It's giving me a bad attitude! I was stressed out during that last pap-smear, God. The doctor was so up-tight!! She was making her assistant nervous; the assistant was shaking, then she couldn't get the sample into the sample jar. Then, the doctor later bawled me out for talking to her assistant. (I'm not sure I should go back.) It's too bad for them I have some standards, Lord!

Please give me some guidance on this... No one is quite like that great Japanese residential doctor I had! He was handsome! He also smelled like apple blossoms. At least, Jesus, he had a clue as to what was wrong! He was kind, he was professional. He was a great listener, attentive and sweet. Remember when I made him cookies...? He said he couldn't accept them, for professional reasons. Still, he was honest at all times. He put his ego aside and actually admitted to the limitations he had, as a medical scientist. He gave me options and alternatives. Everyone at the hospital adored him, Jesus; it was because he is adorable. I watched him Lord... He treated everyone equally, with the same respect and dignity.

Help me, Jesus, to uphold this criteria for anyone who needs to get all-up into my life. Amen.

Surgical Hearts

Y

This is a rather exotic image... It would be amusing to know who got the great idea of shoving a sword through the heart, as some sort of devotional to Christ? I suspect the image was derived during the Crusades and later developed in Catholic art. Well, surely, it's our way of expressing to God our hurts? The feelings of betrayal we endure, both from ourselves and others? The grief and loss we all experience over wounds that won't heal?

But then, I began to look at this heart as the Surgical Heart... Because it seems, the Sword is inducted from some outer, or outside source, not actually "wanting" to be part of us; on some level, it is placed there intentionally. We have enticed or even welcomed it.

Y

And yet, we are able to accommodate ourselves to it, and find redemption. We do things like trust our doctors. We trust them enough to cut open our chests, break apart our rib-cages, then go in there and cut away things like an "excess flap". We are even blind about it, perhaps not taking into consideration the effects such a surgery might have, on the long-term physical, or psychological well-being of say, one of our children.

One of the best ways to heal yourself, to build-up the strength of your heart, restore it to health again, is to SING! I invite you to do it!

Y

Dear Jesus,
with every breath left in me,
let me raise my voice to You.
If there is nothing else to sing for,
I will sing Your Praises,
Lift Your Name to the Highest Rafters,
and Meet With You...
You who heals me,
You who restores me,
You who conquers all that is ill inside of me,
May I sing for You, Lord, like
a thousand birds!
Like the ringing of bells!
Lift me again, Lord, to Meet with You!
Every day
is a new day;
It's a Beautiful Day, Lord,
because of You!

Smoker's Heart

Y

This is actually one of the original, older images of the Sacred Heart of Christ. As you can see, the painting style was done with old-fashioned paints, no longer in use; you will find this style in images of the Lord done prior to the 1960's. Please note, the crucifix ascending out of the top of of the heart. This is an interesting addition.

Just yesterday I listened to a blurb on television... That the addictive part of smoking is the nicotine, and not the actual smoking. (I will touch on other substances in later posts.) The real danger that occurs to the heart is inducing it with smoke. The crucifix could be symbolic of self-medication, through nicotine; however smoking is an equal and opposing action which breaks down the integrity of the heart.

With it will come such things as congestion, bacterial infections, and yes, cancer. So the TV discussion advised people to purchase things like nicotine pads and gum to help get their nicotine.

Y

This week I went to see my Tui Na healer... I have been living with paralysis on the left side of my face and head for at least 3 years that I'm aware of. (It doesn't just happen over night.) Loi is getting the last remnants of paralysis out of me. This week she went into my body through the back of my neck (again), working intensively to move the chi out of the set of muscles that allow us to move our heads up and down. She got my jaw completely unlocked (after 9 years). What surprised me was, how much I wanted a cigarette! And I don't smoke!

But it was a shock to feel some real sensation of relaxation going through that muscle tissue. It reminded me of how pleasurable it used be, to be out with friends having a beer or two, and ask for a cigarette from someone. I clearly understood why it is, occasionally, people feel they want and need to have a cigarette.

But hey! What can I say? At this point in my life???!! I am just happy to be able to move - and do it without any real pain.

Y

God,
surely You can guide us
to better resources
to help us resolve
our pleasure and pain issues!
Help us
to master our lives
in such a way that we
are not slaves
to the things that bind us.
In Your name,
Jesus, I ask.
Amen
